Department of Urology and Oncology

The Department of Urology and Oncology was established in 1994, earlier than other provincial tumor hospitals, and is a department featuring standardized diagnosis and treatment of urinary male reproductive system tumors. It is entitled as the Best MDT Center, Prostate Cancer Integrated Diagnosis and Treatment Center, Demonstration Base for Standardized Management of Prostate Cancer Patients. The department has a team of high-quality talents with 3 chief physicians, 3 deputy chief physicians, 4 attending physicians, and 1 master tutor, 1 member of the Standing Committee of the Urological Male Reproductive System Oncology Committee of China Anti-Cancer Association, 1 high-level talent, and 3 doctorates. The department has 44 rated beds and actually offers 78 beds, and is equipped with Urological Tumor Research Lab, Drug Clinical Trial Lab, Cystoscope, Urethroscopy, Ureteroscopy Section, Urodynamic Examination Room, Bladder Perfusion Treatment Room, Urology B-ultrasound Examination Room, with a group of advanced instruments and equipment at home and abroad such as Storz cystoscope, endourethoscope, German Storz resection microscope, Japan Olympus plasma resection microscope and TV laparoscope system, American Johnson's ultrasound knife, holmium laser surgery system, and ureter soft mirror equipment. At the same time, the department is also equipped with Wolf ureteroscope, nephroscope, holmium laser lithotripsy system, urodynamic examination system, and carries out general urological disease treatment.

In the past 5 years, the department has hosted 2 national scientific research projects and 5 provincial scientific research projects. 8 SCI papers were published with a total impact factor of more than 40 points, many of which were published in Am J Transplant, Oncogene and Kidney International and other top international journals in the field of surgery, oncology and urology. It has trained 3 graduate students. At present, more than 20 domestic and international multi-center clinical trials of new drugs are being conducted, bringing hope for the survival of terminal cancer patients. In the past 3 years, the department has developed a multi-parameter magnetic resonance imaging VI-RADS grading system for bladder cancer clinical staging and comprehensive treatment. Combined with endocrine therapy for hormone-sensitive metastatic prostate cancer and precise treatment of advanced prostate cancer based on genetic testing, prostate puncture technology significantly improved the prostate early diagnosis, early treatment and cure rate of cancer. It has also trained more than 10 resident doctors. The comprehensive strength of the department in medical treatment, teaching and scientific research has reached an advanced level in the city.
